Hej Joe
Hej Joe,
How great to hear from you. I so appreciate your kindness and be assured I share the same affection toward you. Not seeing you is one of my biggest losses since I left the Academy and Cosmetic Surgery, As I reflect on the several thousand cosmetic surgeons you and I have had the privilege to meet only 4-5 stand out, and you are at the top of the list my brother. I still reflect on the afternoon you and I took a walk in New York and visited MOMA (I think it was MOMA). Your contribution to our careers and more importantly to the fabric of society should not be minimized. Intellectually and spiritually you are a giant and your selfless dedication to teaching is a small example.
Well, life has certainly evolved for the better for Kerstin and me. We have a grandchild in Stockholm and have a condo there and a small house in southern Sweden. How great would it be if you ever visited us in Sweden. I promise you would love Scandinavia. I think I will retire end of September from dermatology and will stop doing surgery this month (arthritis in wrists and thumbs of all things!). Kerstin and I will continue to live in Sarasota 6 months each year.
I am still blogging but now it is for me - called "Memoirs of a Life Living" . Maybe some day I will publish but that is not its purpose. If you want to read another brother check out Jesse Itzler "Living with Monks" on Amazon. He sort of reminds me of you and his philosophy is amazing. Very easy short read.
I would love to stay in touch so drop me a line when the moment beckons and I will do the same.
Best
