Dearest Child,
You are becoming a Lack! I say that as a compliment, I think. My Grandfather Benjamin is looking down now and seeing you blossom like a flowered bud exposed to spring and basking in the warmth of the sun. Yes truths are painful and if we open our hearts, provoke intense emotion.
May I ask (suggest) that you read Plato's "The Cave". So many other great books of literature to put the present into perspective but two of the greatest are Anna Karenina and A Tale of Two Cities. I am suggesting you read early literature so that you are not only exposed to truths but to the eternity of suffering. All 3 are  also fun to read.
If we are going to speak about America we must note that America was founded in racism and bigotry. The early settlers were either criminals or people seeking to escape from religious persecution. Regardless they all wanted to create their own space so they could assume power and eliminate people of different color, religion, beliefs (See the movie or read the novel "The Leopard"- There must be change for things to stay the same)
The Americans then attacked the Irish, the Poles, the Swedes, the Jews, the Blacks,...there is no end.
The only catalyst for change (anywhere in the world) is war and financial depression, and I believe we will have one or both very soon. Also remember the cycles as written in the fourth turning.
One last piece: interest rates have to go up because the central banks of the world have lowered them egregiously to stimulate growth and line their pockets. The result is unbridled inflation which leads to a depression or at least recession. Therefore interest rates must rise even though everyone except the politicians and billionaires will suffer. Yet that is the way of the world as it has always been and will be.
Nevertheless I not infrequently lose my temper and engage unsuspecting people in fairly vicious arguments. I am meditating twice a day now to control myself and the next few years are going to be years of terror. I am so glad Mom and I visited Berlin. I do suggest it for you and Geoff.
The glory is we have our multinational family and can share our love and that justifies belonging to an evil world.
Love you
Tatte
